Thanks to everyone who contacted me with comments about Constant Cravings, a documentary I presented on whether food or eating can be addictive, which was broadcast on Radio 4 this week. I’ve answered all of these …
More people every day, try desperately to overcome obesity.
They are victims of misinformation, mass produced by the diet and food industry. People are led to believe that to lose weight requires dieting and will power. Neither has anything to do with a weight gain caused by food addiction.
The addiction makes us obsess about food. it makes us hungry.
The more we eat, the hungrier we get. To eliminate the weight, we must first cure our food addiction. Once it is gone, so are the food cravings and so is the weight. Yet, invariably people will focus on dieting. Dieting cannot cure a food addiction and it is not safe to deprive ourselves of food. The human body evolves, it doesn’t adapt. It responds to dieting by activating a response to famine.
Once the famine is over. Our body goes to work to restore every ounce of fat we lost. This is a very demanding process and since it doesn’t help us lose weight in real terms, dieting is useless and best avoided. The fact is, the more we diet, we fatter we get.
Till Forty years ago, there was no reason to diet. If you want to know more about this and how you can get help to cure your addiction and lose the weight for good; just click this link.
