Volkow and her coauthors start out with a disclaimer.”we do not claim that obesity is the result of sugar addiction”. But despite this. They go on to argue that the two conditions have an awful lot in common. The key to both …
How do we recognize sugar addiction symptoms?
Sugar Addiction symptoms are obvious! They are there when can’t stop eating. It’s hard to believe. But before obesity there was no sugar addiction. And before food addiction there was no dieting. It has taken us only 40 years. To go from a majority of slim healthy people. To a majority of fat, unhealthy people, with sugar addiction. We already have a precedence. An older, legally sanctioned addiction. I’m referring of course: To the tobacco industry. The food industry have learnt some lessons. The tobacco industry were always in denial. Their science labs issued statements. Validating their products as non addictive. The food industry do the same.
The tobacco industry had, and still has. A powerful lobby. The food Industry has the same. Their lobby groups have influence. Fake, processed foods make up our kids school lunches. When they felt threatened. The tobacco industry brought out low tar cigarettes. The food industry, when threatened. Brought out low carb diets. But they went a step further. They brought out a range of low fat food. We now had a choice of 2 groups of addictive products.
The food industry have covered themselves well. Against accusations of sugar addiction symptoms. They are furiously working towards their final goal. To eliminate all natural foods. And replace them with ‘products’. They want to bring them into a processing regime. It doesn’t take a genius to put two and two together. Everybody theorizes. And debates the rights and wrongs of food addiction. Nobody is talking about a cure!
Now that is something, you’ll agree. Is truly hard to understand. Until you realize: The diet and food industries. Are completely dependent on our food addiction. You think that’s a bit of a stretch? Not at all. The food industry has had forty years. To lure people into an addiction. They use colorful packaging. To appeal to kids. They use pseudo science to tempt the parents. They stop at nothing. Including false claims and misinformation. The tobacco industry has taught them well. After all. They have profited from a deadly addiction. For a hundred years.
There is no reason the food industry can’t do the same. They already count on parents. To pass on their addiction to the next generation. This is an insidious, ugly addiction. The only question we should be asking is: How do we cure it for good. But that is not a popular solution. It is so much better. To analyse and theorize. Than to take action. And do something about it. Make no mistake: Processed foods are addictive. The sugar addiction symptoms. Will make that clear. you can learn what to do about if you just click here:
